SALMON are the heart and spirit of fishing in the Queen Charlotte Islands. World renowned; this area offers the best Chinook and Coho fishing grounds in the world. This area is considered the starting line for migrating salmon. They journey south to the many different river systems so that they can produce the future generations. These fish are in the best shape of their lives prepping for the journey ahead... this may very well be your best opportunity at a 30lb Tyee!

Chinook/King Salmon start arriving as early as the first week of May, feeding on the abundant schools of spawning Herring right at the harbour's door step, 5 minutes from the lodge!. The size of these salmon range from 15 lbs to 50 lbs and above! As June approaches, the numbers of fish heading south increases and the fish start their most rapid rate of growth; they are in a feeding frenzy - bait balls be warned! As they grow, TYEE, (30lb+ Chinook Salmon), are taken daily. These waters are known to have Chinook salmon up to 90 pounds; our record is a massive 73 pounds!

Coho/Silvers are another salmon showing up in late June. Throughout the season, the size of the Northern Coho increase at a rate which is noticeable from week to week, due to rapid feeding on schooling bait fish. Come September, the action becomes crazy with 15 to 20 lb Northern Cohos - plentiful as late as October! These beauties always make for great action as they dance along the water pulling line from your reel, testing your skill level and are great on light tackle.You will not find a fresher and tastier fish than these chrome beauties. Our lodge record Coho is 20 pounds.

Pinks, Chum and Sockeye are all available in these waters, however, sportfishing is for the brave and strong, prepare your lines for the opportunity of a lifetime. We bait up and take your salmon fishing adventures to the extreme. Your first bite may very well be a TYEE!
