The Halibut fishing is solid in the Queen Charlottes from early May to late September. Our Halibut fishing grounds are located 20 to 40 minutes from the Lodge in approx. 30 to 275 feet of water . Often we catch "Hali" while trolling for Salmon; meaning you will not even need to leave the in-shore salmon grounds for your opportunity at a Hali!
The most popular method to catch Hali is heading offshore to the deep water, this is where we see our best results and you won't have to wait long! At Escott Sportfishing we do not mess around when it comes to Halibut fishing! We use top of the line equipment, along with proven techniques, to maximize your fishing success and enjoyment of the fight !
Sizes range from 15 to 50 lbs, Halibut is known as a great eating size or aka "chicken of the sea". Every once in a while you will get the opportunity at what is referred to as the "barn door" - one BIG Halibut , (100lbs +) .
Let's just hope you're up to the challenge. Our record at Escott Sportfishing is 173 lb Hali - quite the experience!
Good weather and morning calm sea conditions are other benefits to a Halibut adventure . Are you ready to take on your "
HALI"!
